Every year Pantone announces the "Color of the Year." Their selection is based on trends, culture, and fashion. For the very first time two colors were announced!
Rose Quartz and Serenity but most of you are more familiar with them as baby pink and baby blue. lol
These colors are often used separately to defined gender, however used together gender lines start to blur. Especially in fashion as you see more men who aren't afraid to wear pink and brighter colors.
Color is to be thought of as a form of expression and not something that defines who you are. This year is about blurring the lines to promote less type casting and stereotypes.
Superb examples of how you can incorporate the colors of the year into your home decor! Subtly is key though. Use them as pops of color or special accents to highlight a space.
Once you know what the color of the year is you start to see it everywhere! Can't wait for the 2017 announcement. Any guesses on what it will be?w

Much like the "little black dress" the "little black tote" can be found in every woman's arsenal. It represents her go-to tote, bag, or purse that she wouldn't dare leave home without. It's filled with what she finds essential and a few surprises tucked in there too. This blog is just that! My little black tote.
